Akash Medhe
Founder, director and convenor. Choreography and performance direction.
From Mumbai’s dance circuit to building confident performers in Bengaluru, Akash has spent more than 15 years learning how a great show comes together.

Akash's story with dance began long before Rexa Step.
Starting as a young dance prodigy, he worked his way through Mumbai's demanding dance circuit, spending years as a dancer across Bollywood songs and productions. Behind the stars, cameras and elaborate sets, he learned what makes a performance truly work: discipline, timing, formations, energy, and the hundreds of details an audience never sees.
But performing was only the beginning.
Akash discovered that his real strength was getting other people to perform, from complete beginners taking their first steps to children, families, and large groups preparing for their biggest stage.
Over the years, he developed his own dance format, blending Western, Eastern, and Zumba techniques into movements that are energetic, easy to learn, and designed to come together seamlessly across large groups. It became the foundation of the Rexa approach: make great performances possible for everyone, not just trained dancers.
He eventually brought that experience to Bengaluru and started small, teaching students, choreographing weddings, and building performances one group at a time.
That journey became Rexa Step.
Today, Akash and the Rexa team create performances for schools, companies, weddings, and dancers of every age, bringing the energy and discipline of his years in Mumbai to every stage they touch.
He spent his childhood learning how a great show is made. Now, he builds them.
